Employment Programmes

• According to Government of Orissa, at least 50% of the households in the affected blocks will have to be provided income support through wage employment for 25 days a month till March, 2000.

• Department of Rural Development has released Rs.273.65 crore to Government of Orissa under various employment generation programmes.

• A special Food for Work programme is being finalised for the affected districts by the Department of Rural Development. This will not only generate employment, but also contribute to the restoration of damaged public infrastructure.
