Relaxations allowed in credit /Insurance Sectors
- All people in the affected
districts will be treated as BPL
- People with outstanding loans
will be eligible for a second loan under IRDP.
- NABARD has sanctioned additional
short-term agricultural credit limit aggregating Rs.75.05 Crore to Orissa
State Cooperative Bank to enable the Cooperatives in the affected area to
finance the short-term credit needs of farmers.
- NABARD has agreed in principle
to convert Kharif, ‘99 dues into medium-term loans by Cooperatives.
- LIC has directed settlement of
claims by 15.12.1999. LIC has also announced several relaxation in payment
of premium and settlement of insurance claims in respect of the deceased in
the wake of the cyclones
- GIC of India has set up a
Committee to ensure settlement of claims by 15.12.1999.
- SIDBI has announced refinance
assistance upto Rs.10.00 lakh per affected unit.
- Railways, Air India and Indian
Airlines have made arrangements to carry relief materials including food and
medicines free of cost.
